First up, good news came from developer Creative Assembly recently with the announcement of
Medieval 2: Total War, the forthcoming sequel to one of the best strategy games in recent years. We got a little worried about Creative Assembly last year when Sega announced that it purchased the company and that its next game would be Spartan: Total Warrior, a hack-and-slash action game for consoles...talk about a far cry from the likes of Medieval and Shogun, with their meticulous attention to historical authenticity. But now it seems Creative Assembly is going back to what it does best. Read the first info on the game and check out some impressive images of what it'll hopefully end up looking like.
Next up, we've got a new hands-on impressions story telling you all about Heroes of Might and
Magic V, the latest in the long-running, incredibly addictive strategy series. I've poured ridiculous hours into past Heroes installments so I'm anxiously awaiting this one...especially since it's being handled by a different developer than previous episodes, though I get the distinct impression that the comrades working at Nival Interactive are huge fans of the series. At any rate, the proof is in the pudding and we're already impressed with what we've seen of the game. Find out why in our preview.
Finally, we've got a couple of great new offers for urgo2 subscribers that I wanted to mention, and mention again in the case of our premiere of the Star Wars: Empire at War single-player demo. This one's high up on a lot of RTS fans' radars, and if you aren't sure why, just download the thing and see for yourself. Also, we're offering a 10 percent discount on the downloadable version of the recent Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, the climactic conclusion to the outstanding series. It's a great game that's well worth checking out, especially if you've enjoyed the series in the past. Thanks for reading!
