urgo2 Gamers review XBOX
This week's haul is a little light. 2K Sports has MLB 2K6 for the Xbox (the 360 version will follow later in the month) and Eidos has Commandos Strike Force. Nothing on the 360, unless another Live Arcade game appears out of the blue.
Next week, though, Eidos has Tomb Raider: Legend for everything exc
ept for the GameCube. So whether you have an Xbox or a 360, you'll have that to look forward to. I'll admit it, I never much cared for Lara Croft the character--still don't, in fact. But this game definitely looks interesting. I never thought I'd say that about a Tomb Raider game, but there you go. Of course, if you're like the rest of the free world and love the series, you're probably pretty excited. How will the final game turn out? Well, you'll have to wait for our full review to see that.
Also up for release next week, the retail sites are listing stuff like King of Fighters Neowave for the Xbox, and a bunch of stuff that may or may not surface, like Classified: Sentinel Crisis, which has been shuffling around release schedules for like a year or so. Will it ever get released? Does this game even exist? The world may never know.
On the Xbox 360 side, there was a small update to the backwards compatibility list recently, adding only three games. This is bigger than it sounds, though, because all three games are relatively recent releases: Black, Star Wars Battlefront II, and Winning Eleven 9. For Battlefront II and Winning Eleven 9 fans, that's great news. But considering Black isn't really the sort of game you play through twice (especially if it means losing your save with the silver guns unlocked), it's a little tough to get excited about that one. But hey, it's progress, and if you want to play Black, but haven't yet, now you've got the option to play it in a higher resolution. I'd follow this up by saying "man, if only [insert Xbox game name here] were supported, then they'd have something," but seeing as how I can't earn points from old Xbox games, they're effectively useless to me and my mad quest for points. Plus my Xbox is still hooked up, so... yeah.
Speaking of which, by the time you read this, I should be pretty close to getting all of the points in Oblivion. I'm finished with the main quest and I've finished three of the five points-bearing quest lines. After that... Top Spin 2!
