As I type this, GameSpot editor Alex Navarro is whipping through a bazillion different versions of Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie--but how about we just call it King Kong for short. Movie games still have a stigma attached to them, but King Kong was produced under the watchful supervision of director Peter Jackson himself as well as luminary game designer Michel Ancel. So how'd it all turn out? Stay tuned for our full review and you'll see.

Next up, our verdict is in about City of Villains, the follow-up to last year's excellent City of Heroes. Though it seems like half the world is still madly addicted to World of Warcraft, City of Villains offers a compelling alternative that lets you get in touch with your sinister side. So if you're on the prowl for a new online role-playing experience, definitely tune into our review of this one.

We're also putting the PC version of Need for Speed Most Wanted through the paces, which has to be the most interested Need for Speed game in years. This one takes the police chases of some of the older games in the series to a whole new level, emphasizing reckless escapes from the authorities. The console versions are a ton of fun, so I'll be interested to see how the PC version stacks up.
This week also marks the release of the Xbox 360, Microsoft's next-generation game system. Among its starting lineup are ports of recent PC hits including Call of Duty 2 and Quake 4, and you'll find from our coverage that the 360 handles these games with mixed results. Is the 360 a threat to PC gaming? Nah, probably not, considering Microsoft wants you playing games on your PC as well as your Xbox 360, right? If you celebrate Thanksgiving, best wishes from all of us at GameSpot. And if you're holiday shopping, stay dry and choose wisely!
